I keep seeing a call to action at the end of each article. But what practically can be done. After all, we do not have access to unlimited funds, we are unpopular if we voice our opinions and we are kind of trapped. I was told that if my year old daughter will not get the flu shot, she will be excluded from school. I begged the NJ school to accept the religious exemption, they would not. I went to my pediatrician who said that he would not write a true medical exemption that he didn't feel existed. He wrote as per mom, this child may react to the flu shot and should not receive it and signed it. The school rejected this. Finally, I just brought her to get the flu shot, even though it goes against my values, because I didn't want her expelled from school; I didn't think that quitting my job and pulling her out of school was a viable option.
Golly this is sickening--just one more reason why I'm SO fed up with NYC and those "runnin' it" (into the ground). Mortified mama here, I have a few suggestions for ya to get this into the PRESS (and it ain't gonna be The Forward).
