When Did Public Health Become a Tool for Public Shaming?
A study published in Vaccine was recently highlighted by The Highwire. It lays bare what many quietly feared: the unvaccinated weren’t simply being urged to protect others—they were being tracked, labeled, and morally condemned. Behind the rhetoric of “safety” lurked a coordinated social experiment in control, one that measured how far ordinary people would go to ostracize their neighbors in the name of virtue.

Many who have suffered from long term adverse reactions from the Covid vaccines share a common complaint. They say that they have been utterly disregarded and ignored by their government.
But their fears are unwarranted. The Government has been listening, tracking, and keeping notes on every word they say. Not only that, but they are acting in accordance. Not in the way you would imagine, though.
Is Correcting Wrongthink a “Core Function of Public Health?
Members from the New York City Health Department published a piece in the NEJM entitled “Combating Misinformation as a Core Function of Public Health.” One mustn’t look much further than the title of the article to realize that the NYC Health Department, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office, has run deeply afoul of the very first constitutional amendment. The authors of the article (all of whom were members of a “Misinformation Response Unit”) report how they culled from various reports to get the pulse on the narrative being spread by “vaccine deniers”. The intent of this analysis wasn’t to lend support or seek to better the product. The sole objective of this monitoring was to stifle resistance. The paper quoted reports of quasi-independent groups, such as The Virality Project (see weekly briefings and Rapid Response tabs), Project VCTR, The Kaiser Family Foundation Monthly Survey, and First Draft News (See tracking).
New York City’s Vaccine Misinformation Cadence Reports
One particular report was contracted and commissioned by the Mayor’s Office and the Health Department itself. The NYC Health Department partnered with a data mining group called GroupSense to issue reports in live time about the current conversation surrounding vaccines.
These reports, precured via FOIA, are cynically called "Vaccine Mis/Disinformation Cadence Reports”. Every report contains the following disclosure: “Recipients should only share this document with members of their own organization who need to know, and only as widely as necessary to act on the information contained herein.”
Why, you ask?
Simple! A great many of these reports are hardly mis/disinformation at all. Rather many of the truths contained in the reports have been validated many times over.
Nearly every effective influencer and talk show host who questioned vaccines or the covid narrative are named in these reports.
However, many of the lead misinformation spreaders are entirely absent from these 848 pages of reports. The report is silent regarding the lies spread by personalities such as Anthony Fauci, Rochelle Wilensky, and President Joe Biden. These, and many other government actors who have been notorious in spreading misinformation, seem to have gotten a free pass. Even though they withheld treatments and promoted “covid mitigation” policies and vaccines which caused mass carnage, the NYC Health Department and Mayor’s office deemed them as the ultimate truth-sayers.
The product of these data gathering reports resulted in many actions tailored to specific populations within NYC. As an example, the focus on the Community of Orthodox Jews, who by and large did not follow the city’s guidelines, are documented in great detail in an eight part series here.
On the Federal Level
The flagrant first amendment violations perpetrated by the federal government have become common knowledge due to the “Twitter Files” by by Matt Taibbi. An example of such malfeasance is posted below.
Even more shocking is the saga of Missouri v. Biden, meticulously documented by Tracy Beanz. Most are unaware, however, of the CDC’s publicly available COVID-19 State of Vaccine Confidence Insights Reports (click on “View Previous Reports”). It wasn’t as if the CDC wasn’t listening to Brianne Dressen, Maddie de Garay, or the tens of thousands screaming from the mountaintops about their adverse reactions to the Covid vaccine. Instead, the CDC was logging it and creating reports about the growing cacophony of discontent. The CDC subsequently distributed this compiled information to nationwide health departments with tips on how to deal with the barrage of frustration.
In their very first report they state:
“High levels of dangerous reactions after vaccination are being reported to agents using CDC-INFO. The public also perceives the v-safe after vaccination health checker to be a link to medical assistance. During the report period, 1 in 5 calls to CDC-INFO were from individuals with troubling clinical symptoms and appeared to necessitate urgent care by a trained clinician – most also expected callbacks from V-safe immediately.”
The CDC’s recommendation to remedy the situation did not include providing support to the victims reporting these adverse events. For that they were deflected to their primary care physicians who, in turn, were guided by the CDC to deny that any reaction could be caused by the vaccine. From the CDC’s point of view, gaining vaccine confidence despite the high rates of adverse events was only seen as a communication issue.
Further in the report was the tip to “normalize the side effects that are known to occur. (Bold in original).
In Report 6, the CDC notes that:
“In the United States, consumers continue to report experiencing side effects and potential adverse events for all three COVID-19 vaccines.”
Instead of quoting from VAERS or V-Safe, they drew this conclusion from a litany of news reports. The CDC claims to be the premier repository of data, yet when reporting about side effects, they turn to media reports! We can’t help but note that the media typically refuses to publish any content which reflects negatively about vaccines. The CDC refuses to use their own VAERS and V-Safe data, and the media refuses to publish the stories. Yet, the few stories that get published are highlighted by the CDC.
The CDC’s problem, however, wasn’t the reports themselves. The concern voiced by the CDC is “As these reports continue… vocal vaccine deniers are seeking to amplify concerns about side effects and cast doubt on vaccine safety.”
Apparently, concerned citizens doing the CDC’s job for them is abhorrent. The science of vaccine safety is beyond reproach and could never have any doubt cast on them.
As if this wasn’t enough, the CDC shared their social media spying tools so that local health departments can emulate the CDC’s work on a micro level.
Snitches Against Wrongthink Welcome Here
In the end of 2022, the CDC took their work up one notch. No longer content with simply relying on governmental monitoring, they now sought CDC “partners” to snitch on their neighbors and colleagues who may harbor wrongthink.
The CDC urges that the partners “give as much information about the rumor as you can, including a description of the rumor, where you heard it, and how many times you have heard it.”
The CDC has since removed any vestige of the rumor reporting link from its website, but the FDA still hosts a “Rumor Control” webpage where self-righteous goons can report their friends and neighbors.
What constitutional right does the government have to take its citizens’ money to surveil them, and then seek to imbue them with “correct” information to remedy their wrongthink? Dr. Jane Zucker, Assistant Commissioner at NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, admitted in a video (obtained via FOIA) that “we have had conversations about what legally we can do in terms of… shut(ing) down some of (dissonant doctors) but… when I’ve brought up things… (I was told that) there is a sort of first amendment rights,… there's free speech (laugh).”
Notice how free speech was not on her radar at all! Also of note is the ghastly laugh she releases, showing the contempt she harbors for free speech and the first amendment.
Taking Our Money to Shame Us
Similarly, New Jersey residents who were critical of the state’s covid mitigation policies were called “knuckleheads” by their Governor. Meanwhile, this State oversaw a disastrous handling of the Covid epidemic, including forcing long term facilities to accept Covid positive patients and suffered the worst covid death rate in the USA in 2020!
To add insult to injury, the NJ Department of Health Contracted a Public relations company called Kivvit (founded by David Axelrod) to "push boundaries” and “instill emotion and real-life fear" by deploying fear and shame of unvaccinated residents.
Kivvit’s shaming binge was well greased by a $39+ Million dollars funded fully by the very people whom they were out to shame.
A constitutional republic should never have to contend with a government that seeks to interject its citizenry with “proper messaging”. The first amendment was seen as such a simple right, that it was never deemed necessary to insert it into the original constitution. The First Amendment was only adopted when some feared that the federal government may not protect free speech and indeed inhibit or even punish those who sought to exercise this inherent right.
Ladies and Gentlemen, that day has come.
